As three sisters raised between Kenya and Europe, we’ve always been drawn to self-expression, storytelling, and craftsmanship. The name Urathy means “to inherit” Our jewelry isn’t just something you wear—it’s something you carry forward. Each piece connects past to present, tradition to style, memory to meaning.
We work with natural, sustainable materials like recycled glass, horn, shells, driftwood, seeds, and semi-precious stones. to create jewelry that’s bold, soulful, and full of meaning. Each piece is handmade with intention, reflecting where we come from and what we believe in- beauty with purpose.

Hi, I’m Nyambura, co-founder and creative mind behind Urathyhandmade. I love good food, honest conversations, and everything that celebrates individuality.
Growing up between Kenya
and Germany, I’ve always seen style as something personal and jewelry as the
boldest way to express it. I still remember how one bracelet could change the way my mother carried herself. That feeling stayed with me.

My name is Wanjiru, and I am one of the three sisters behind Urathyhandmade a brand born out of a deep love for jewelry, craftsmanship, and the rich cultural heritage of East Africa, especially our home, Kenya.
At Urathyhandmade,
we’ve chosen a different path in a world driven by fast fashion and mass
production. We create handcrafted and stylish pieces that reflect the soul of
Africa. Each design tells a story, one of tradition, resilience, and artistic
excellence.
Our strength lies in our sisterhood; three ladies with distinct but complementary backgrounds, united by a shared vision. My sister Diana brings a strong entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen, which helps shape our strategic growth and customer
relationships.
Annliz offers deep
expertise in supply chain management, having worked extensively in the local
textile industry with a focus on sustainable fashion. Her knowledge ensures our processes are both efficient and environmentally conscious.
With my own background
in business administration and experience working with international
organizations, I focus on ensuring our sourcing practices uphold the highest
ethical standards. I work closely with artisans to guarantee that every piece
of jewelry is not only beautifully crafted but also ethically produced. We are
proud to embrace fair trade principles, ensuring that everyone involved in our
process is treated with dignity and paid fairly.

Njeri
My journey with jewelry began long before I even knew it. Growing up in Kenya, I was a little girl with big dreams and an even bigger fascination for all things beautiful. My mother was my first
inspiration, she let me "borrow" her earrings and wobble around in her high heels as if I were already part of the fashion world.
Today, 20 years later, that childhood passion has turned into something truly special. Together with my sisters, we transformed our shared love for unique, meaningful jewelry into a business and just like that, Urathy Handmade was born.
To me, jewelry is not just about accessories it's about confidence and self-expression. I believe in
creating pieces that don’t overwhelm, but instead add a subtle spark, the kind
of jewelry that makes you feel effortlessly beautiful and authentic. That spark never left me, it grew stronger, shaped by my journey through life, and
deepened by my studies in sustainability at the Geneva Graduate Institute.
At Urathy, I bring that passion and purpose together. With my sisters, we craft jewelry that honors nature, culture, and creativity, using raw, natural and recycled materials like wood, gem stones, horn, burned soil or recycled glass. Each piece is thoughtful, soulful, and made to feel like you.
My favorite part of this journey is the creativity and care we pour into every design. From the careful selection of natural materials to playing with colors that evoke different moods, every piece has a story and a soul.
